Set the RAID level of your choice.
The SOHORAID provides two RAID modes: mirrored or striped. RAID 0 (Striped) combines the capacities of both drives to form as one volume in order to obtain faster data I/O speed. RAID 1 (Mirrored) synchronizes two drives to provide data redundancy. Password security means that accidentally changing the RAID mode (which would result in data being destroyed) would be prohibited.

Easily replace the drives.
The SOHOTANK comes with removable drive trays that let you install hard drives quickly and efficiently. Without shutting off the system, you can remove a failed drive and replace it with a new one. You can use this to rotate drives in a mirored RAID, so you can keep a copy off-site in case of disaster. Caution : Removing drive(s) is only a function of RAID 1. Under the RAID 0, if a drive fails or is removed from the system, all data will be entirely lost.

Connect as fast as possible.
While the SOHORAID can connect via USB 2.0, an eSATA connection is recommended to use it to its full potential. This bundle includes a 2-port PCI Express (PCIe) card which, when installed, will provide the high-speed data throughput that eSATA provides.
